“You have cancer.”

Those are the words that no one is ever ready or prepared (emotionally, physically, psychologically, socially etc.).

Words that all of a sudden make you feel like the world has just shattered into pieces.

Words that make the room feel like it’s falling in on you and that there is no air to breath.

We all hear about cancer but we never think that it will hit close to home.

After my mother went through breast cancer 3 years ago and now my boyfriend fighting thyroid cancer, I can honestly say that cancer is beyond real and that everyone around the person will feel it.

UnknownThere are tears.

There is sadness.

There is that feeling of uncertainty.

But there is hope.
